Veronica "Ronnye" Vargas Stidvent

Veronica "Ronnye" Vargas Stidvent is a strategic transformation executive who has guided organizations through  critical growth phases for over two decades. Through her consulting practice, Stidvent Partners, she advises corporations, non-profits, and investment firms on strategic planning, organizational development, and policy navigation. Her rare combination of White House-level policy development experience and proven corporate execution capabilities makes her a sought-after advisor for organizations facing complex regulatory and transformation challenges.

Her unique career spans the highest levels of government—including roles as Special Assistant to the President for Policy in the White House and Senate-confirmed Assistant Secretary for Policy at the U.S. Department of Labor—to executive leadership in financial services, higher education, and strategic consulting. As Chancellor of WGU Texas, she drove 75% enrollment growth while managing a $35M operational budget, demonstrating her ability to deliver transformational results in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. She has led Centers at the University of Texas at Austin and served on the Board of Trustees of Southwestern University, helping navigate the complex issues facing higher education. At Dimensional Fund Advisors, she developed and launched the firm’s global education program for client-facing personnel, ensuring consistency in messaging and sales. She most recently served as Chief Development Officer and Deputy General Counsel for a private equity firm, combining her regulatory expertise with corporate transformation experience to guide portfolio companies through strategic growth initiatives.

A native of El Paso, Texas, Ronnye holds a J.D. from Yale Law School and a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin, where she was a Dean’s Distinguished Graduate. She serves on the boards of Amplify Credit Union and the Travis County Parks Foundation and has received multiple gubernatorial appointments including the Governor's Advisory Council on Cultural Affairs. Her thought leadership includes a co-authored article in White House Studies Journal, op-eds in major dailies, and regular appearances on CNN, NPR, and other major media outlets.  She has been recognized with the Outstanding Young Texas Ex Award and the National Association of Hispanic Publications Latina Role Model Award.
